Here, we’ve compiled answers to some of the most common questions about living with us. Whether you’re curious about amenities, policies, or the local area, you’ll find all the information you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to reach out!
Yes, you can cancel an open-ended contract with a one-month notice period (Read more here). However, if the required notice period isn’t observed, we will charge one month’s rent. For fixed-term contracts, early termination is not possible without a fee equal to one month’s rent.
Yes, we do! For stays shorter than six months, we typically provide fixed-term contracts to make things easier for tenants, as notice periods won’t be a concern. While our housing is primarily intended for those staying at least five months—especially during the busiest semesters (August to December and January to May)—we’re happy to accommodate shorter stays if we have availability. The minimum rental period is one month.
You will know you have received a contract to sign if you have received an email from info@anttikorppistudenthouse.fi telling you that an offer has been sent to you. If you have used university email, the message may have been rejected for security reasons. If you have used a university email address, please forward your personal email to info@anttikorppistudenthouse.fi. Remember to check your spam!
An open-ended contract continues until you decide to terminate it. To do so, please send an email to info@anttikorppistudenthouse.fi. The notice period is one full (1) calendar month. For example, if you give notice on May 5, your tenancy will end on June 30.
For fixed-term contracts, there’s no need to give notice, as the contract ends automatically on the agreed date. However, we appreciate it if you inform us of your planned departure date.
Open-ended contracts have no set end date and are ideal for residents planning longer stays. These contracts offer flexibility, and with this arrangement, the apartment remains reserved for the tenant until they choose to give notice of termination.
Getting your internet set up is easy! Internet access is free, but you’ll need to purchase a cable and/or modem to get started. Only one of the ethernet outlets works, so make sure to test both to see which one provides the connection for your modem or computer.
If you prefer a wired connection, just plug in the cable, and you’re good to go. For Wi-Fi, you’ll need to buy an Ethernet modem, which can be from any brand. You can search online for different options that suit your budget.
If you’re unsure about compatibility, feel free to contact DNA at +358 44 144 044 for assistance. Once your modem is connected, the Wi-Fi will be available using your modem’s details. For more info, check out the One4All app!
When you move in, the One4All app will be activated for you to book laundry services. In the app, you can find instructions for washing machines and other housing guidelines. The laundry room is located on the street level of the staircase A.
Yes! The gym is located in the basement of staircase C, and it’s free of charge for our residents. We recommend using it between 8:00 and 22:00 to be considerate of your neighbors— the sound of weights can travel easily through the building’s structures!
Yes! We have two saunas, one for women and one for men. The women’s sauna can be found on the ground floor in staircase A and the men’s sauna in the basement of staircase C.
You don’t need to book a sauna shift in advance. Sauna shifts are every Wednesday and Friday from 7pm to 9pm. The door lock opens when the sauna is turned on, otherwise, the sauna doors are locked.
The bins are located in shelters next to Staircase A and Staircase D. You can open the shelter’s door with your room key.
The fuse is a bit small, so unfortunately the oven and stove can’t be used at the same time. Just remember to use one or the other when cooking, and everything should work perfectly!
In Finland, it is generally safe to move around alone, even in the evening and at night. Koskela is a quiet area and we have received a lot of positive feedback from our residents about the location and its safety.

You’ll receive a separate notification from the post office or transport service with all the details on when and how to pick them up. They’ll make sure you know exactly what to do!
Please keep in mind that some transport services may not be able to call foreign phone numbers, so it might be helpful to get a Finnish phone number or a prepaid connection for this purpose.
If your room is available, then yes. Just send an email to info@anttikorppistudenthouse.fi and let us know your new preferred move-in date. If you want to move in later than you originally requested and/or signed the contract to start, we can change the move-in date, but unfortunately, we cannot change the billing. If you want to move in earlier, you will be charged an additional daily fee.
You will receive an email with instructions on how to collect your keys before the start date of your tenancy. Please note that the deposit must be paid before we can send you instructions on how to collect the keys. Your keys will be available in a secure safety box and you can pick them up on the start date of your contract at a time that suits you. The safety box is accessible 24/7 for your convenience.
Yes! Your keys will be available in a secure safety box and you can pick them up on the start date of your contract at a time that suits you. The safety box is accessible 24/7 for your convenience.
No, you can pick up the keys when it’s convenient for you! However, please let us know your exact arrival date, so you will receive key instructions closer to your actual move-in date. Send a message to: info@anttikorppistudenthouse.fi
We will send the tenant instructions for moving out when we have received the notice of termination. You can find the checklist for moving out here.
Following these instructions will ensure a quicker return of your security deposit:
You can terminate the contract with a notice period of one full calendar month. A full calendar month means a period corresponding to one month of the calendar, starting on the first day of the month and ending on the last day of the month (for example, the 1st of October to the 31st of October is a full calendar month).
For instance, if you wanted to move out on the 15th of December, you would need to terminate your contract at the latest on the 31st of October.
Contracts always end on the last day of the month. You can terminate the contract by sending an email to info@anttikorppistudenthouse.fi.
You will receive instructions on how to return your keys when your termination is confirmed. Please make sure that the key has a key ring with the number of the room in it.
Our contracts always end on the last day of the month so even though you are leaving earlier during the month, we cannot refund the rent for the remaining days.
You can find all the important information about moving out here.
The security deposit is refunded after your contract has ended and if the conditions of the contract have been met. Make sure that you have emailed your bank details to info@anttikorppistudenthouse.fi for the refund. The deposit usually takes 1-2 weeks to be returned, provided the property has been handed over in the agreed condition. If the room has not been returned as instructed, it may take 2-4 weeks.
Yes, the security deposit (€595) serves as the final reservation for the apartment and needs to be paid right after receiving the invoice. The security deposit is refunded after your contract has ended and if the conditions in the contract have been met.
You will receive a “Welcome to Antti Korppi Student House” message when we have received your deposit.
All rent invoices will be sent to your email, so keep an eye out for emails from Brang Oy. For international payments, we recommend using the Wise service, as we unfortunately can’t accept cash or debit card payments.
Please make sure to pay the invoice by the due date, which is always the 2nd of the month, and remember to include the reference number so we can link the payment to your account. Interest is only paid 14 days after the invoice is sent, so a few days’ delay in payment is not a problem. If you receive a reminder invoice from Brang Oy, simply pay the updated amount with the new reminder fee. Otherwise, pay according to the original invoice.
You will receive the invoice for the security deposit to your email address after you have signed the contract. Just look for an email coming from a sender called Brang. The invoice can be paid with a bank transfer as we, unfortunately, can’t accept cash or debit card payments. We recommend using a service called Wise for all international payments.
Make sure you fill in the reference number for the payment so that we can connect the payment to your account.
When you receive your deposit invoice, you will notice that the due date is the same day, as the deposit will reserve your home. Interest on the security deposit is only paid 14 days after the invoice is sent, so a few days’ delay in payment is not a problem. This approach ensures that apartments are not booked unnecessarily and that as many applicants as possible have the opportunity to receive an offer in time for possible cancellations. Please note that without a deposit we cannot send out key application instructions. If the deposit is still outstanding one week after signing the contract and the tenant has not contacted us about the payment schedule, we reserve the right to offer the apartment to the next applicant.
Unfortunately, our rooms are currently not accessible for individuals with mobility challenges, such as those requiring wheelchair access, due to high doorsteps and other structural limitations.
The offer is valid for 2 days from the date of sending, and the signing period cannot be extended. However, we understand students have changing life circumstances so just drop us an email at info@anttikorppistudenthouse.fi if you would like to receive a new offer. There is no need to send a new application unless we specifically request it. Please note that a new offer may come for a different apartment, or in the busiest seasons (August-December) we may not have apartments available anymore.
Of course! However, please take into consideration the quiet hours (the rules of order can be found in the One4All app that will be activated when moving in) and be mindful of your roommates’ space and schedule. If your friends are staying overnight, just make sure everyone is comfortable with the arrangement, and remember that longer stays do need special permission. We don’t always have extra mattresses to lend out, so it’s a good idea to check with your neighbors if they have an air mattress you can borrow. You can also find affordable air mattresses if needed!
Yes, if you are on time and we have free rooms! We are happy to rent the same apartment to groups of students. Please write on the application form who you would like to share the apartment with.
Yes, we do our best to pair you with someone of the same sex when sharing a bathroom and kitchen. However, we rely on the information provided by applicants, and while we make every effort to accommodate same-sex arrangements, we cannot guarantee this in every case. If needed, and if space allows, we are happy to make changes to room assignments later. Additionally, the common spaces are shared by all residents.
You can apply for a room by sending an application here. Please note that we only accept applications that come through the application form. Applications sent by email are not considered.
There are eight lockable private bedrooms on each floor, so the maximum number of people sharing an apartment on the same floor is eight. You can take a look at the floor plan of the apartment below.
The cost of a shared apartment with its own private bedroom is €595 / month. In addition, you need to pay a security deposit of €595 in order to confirm your stay.
Each shared apartment consists of two single rooms with a shared kitchen and bathroom. Hence, having a private bathroom is not possible. However, you can rent both private rooms, giving you the use of the kitchen and bathroom.
The application process looks like the following:
All rooms come with furniture, sheets, kitchen supplies, and household items. Each shared apartment consists of two single rooms with a shared kitchen and bathroom. Additionally, residents share a common living room and balcony. You can also find cleaning equipment in the common areas.
Please note that some of the equipment shown in the website photos may
not be included in your room.
You can find a comprehensive equipment list here.
The following services are included in the rent:
The minimum stay is one full month and you can stay with us as long as you like! The most popular months are August to December when it can be more difficult to get an apartment for 1-2 months. You can still send us an application, as cancellations may occur.
A resident’s private bedroom is 10.5m2. The kitchen, bathroom, and two bedrooms have a combined area of 30m2. The total area of the shared apartment, which includes 4 shared apartments, a balcony, and a shared living room, is 180m2.
We check the signature and make sure everything is in order with the contract. You will then receive a deposit invoice by email and, if your stay starts in the middle of the month, a rent invoice for the first month of your stay. You can then join our Facebook and Telegram group and start getting to know your new neighbours!
Pictures of the room and common spaces can be found here.
The private bedroom is for one person only but you will share the bathroom and kitchen with a room mate of same sex.
Yes, we do! We offer parking spots with electric outlets next to the building. You can apply for a parking permit when applying for a room or separately here. The cost for parking is €30 per month and it will be billed monthly. Parking is only allowed in designated parking spaces.
In addition, we have cars available for rent 24/7, so you can plan your adventures at your convenience! With a competitive rental price, you can embark on a cottage trip or Ikea shopping worry-free. You can conveniently and quickly rent the car through the Gomore app. Simply download the app, register, and reserve the car immediately!
You can pay your tickets with a HSL (Helsinki Region Transport) app. You can download the app here: App Store, Google Play
With the HSL app, you can buy single, day, multi-journey, season and zone extension tickets. Season tickets are available as an auto-renewing subscription or as an economical auto-renewing saver subscription. Select the “Tickets” tab and follow the instructions. Please note that you must strongly authenticate to buy season tickets and multi-journey tickets.
You can pay your tickets by a debit or credit card that you have linked to the app. You can pay by VISA, VISA Electron, Mastercard and Amex. You can choose either debit or credit. In addition, you can pay with MobilePay, HSL Commuter Benefit, Edenred, Epassi and Smartum.
Ticket purchases up to 50 euros can also be charged to your phone bill. A payment method fee of 1.6 percent is added to these payments.
